West is to your left,
East is to your right.

For example, if you click the red button on this slide, you will hear a little about the south porch through which you entered. If you would like to hear a short Bible reading relevant to your stopping place, click the black button. For example, if you click the black button on this slide, you will hear a short introduction for the other Bible readings. To listen to anything again click the speaker symbol and then the play icon. When you are ready to move on to the next stop click the blue arrow.

You entered the church through the south porch, the side that catches the sun. Here in medieval times religious and secular business was conducted and meetings were held. You may have noticed the beautiful niche occupied by a small statue of the Virgin Mary, given by the Earl and Countess of Shaftesbury as a thank offering for the ministry of a former Vicar. Above the porch is a Priest’s room. It has a fireplace and outside the door is a small sink.
There is a short Bible reading available at each of your stops around the tour. Each reading is appropriate to that part of the Church and together they set out the whole Christian story. Just touch the black button to hear the reading at each stop.
